Mark joined SDI in 2016, bringing almost three decades of experience to the team. He held prior industry roles as the COO of Panavision (cameras & lenses for cinema), CEO of National Mobile Television (television production trucks/OB vans) and was a Partner with Bain & Company’s Media/Technology practice (management consulting). He has a track record of helping investor-backed companies achieve their full potential through strategic focus and operational improvement. He serves as President of the Board of Camp Gilboa in Southern California. He has a Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Masashi has served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer as well as a member of the board since 2015 and oversees its worldwide financial organization, corporate planning, compliance and risk management. Prior to joining SDI, he ran and managed production and post-production businesses at Imagica Robot Holdings for which he still serves as an Executive Officer. He also worked in the entertainment-electronics industry in which he was responsible for international product marketing as well as developing strategic alliances and joint ventures. He has earned his MBA from University Michigan.
Scott Rose joined SDI in 2000 as part of the Gelula Inc. acquisition where he led IT and R&D technology service groups for 5 years. Since graduating from UCLA in 1984 with a BA in Fine Arts, Scott has spent the past 30 years in all facets of the entertainment production space and has been instrumental in the evolution of localization technology across Packaged Media, Digital Cinema, Broadcast and VOD platforms. He has also worked very closely with Texas Instruments, Sony, Toshiba, Apple, Microsoft and SMPTE providing guidance on standardization and is currently focus is on automation technologies utilizing cloud-based workspaces, AI and Machine Learning.
Natalie Simms is the Chief Information Officer at SDI Media.
Michele Smith joined SDI Media in 2004 in the Los Angeles office. She has been working with media related companies for the last 25 years, starting in finance and eventually switched to operations. Michele has held multiple operations roles within the SDI organization throughout the world, having lived and worked in North America, Europe and now Asia. Michele’s involvement in large scale change management projects and operational workflows has helped to shape the company, consistently working to right-size the organization for scaling potential. Michele has an MBA from Pepperdine University.
Alberto Abisso joined SDI Media in 2010 and brought 15 years of valuable experience to the European Operations Team. Prior to SDI Alberto held a number of management positions including MD and VP of Operations at Greenfield Online, an innovative company pioneering online market research and comparison shopping portals, as well as European Service Manager at APC by Schneider Electric, and was also a Research and Development Engineer at Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), where he was awarded multiple patents as an inventor. He has a proven track record of driving operational success within complex international organizations; building strong cross-cultural teams and helping companies achieve their full potential through strategic focus and operational improvement. Alberto is fluent in four languages and holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering, graduating cum laude from Politecnico Di Milano, where he also worked for 5 years.
Michael Tang joined SDI in 2004 to oversee the business in Asia. Prior to joining SDI Michael worked for Turner Broadcasting where he was the Director of Network Distribution in South East Asia. He was responsible for the distribution of CNN and Cartoon Network to cable, DTH, hotel, and mobile operators. Prior to that, Michael worked as a broadcast engineer for Television Corporation of Singapore, as a programming manager for Channel 5 in Singapore and as a sales manager for Williams Communications. Michael graduated from Imperial College London.
