Subtitling
Preserve the soul of a performance
Great actors use gesture, facial expression, and their whole bodies to convey emotion. Tone and phrasing also play a vital role—even when the spoken words themselves remain a mystery to the viewer.
Our subtitles capture the immediacy of that experience, so viewers everywhere—in any language—can understand what they’re hearing.
- We subtitle in more than 50 languages
- Feature films, TV series, documentaries, and games
- For theatrical, DVD, and broadcast release
- Plus closed captioning services for the deaf and hard of hearing
More than words
Our language experts go beyond word-for-word meaning to make sure nothing gets lost in translation. But that’s only half the story.
Each language specialist undergoes intensive training before working with us. They learn software skills—such as time-cueing and positioning subtitles—as well as approved methods for verifying content, including internet research and contacting museums or national libraries.
In-house editors in our local offices provide consistency for all our languages. We frequently bring in experts to check source material in specialist fields.
