Financial Controller Berlin

SDI Media is seeking a highly motivated FINANCIAL CONTROLLER to train in our Budapest office and relocate to our BERLIN supporting SDI’s German operations.

Candidates must have:
an academic degree with a focus on accounting and/or controlling,
MINIMUM 5+ years’ experience within the Controlling or Finance area in an international or an audit company,
experience working in a Navision environment or with other ERP systems, as well as MS Office and enjoy working with different IT tools,
strong result-orientation with attention for accuracy and meeting deadlines,
the ability to work under pressure with a welcoming attitude for multi-tasking,
high customer orientation with an extraordinary service attitude,
Advanced in German (level B2 or better) and have advanced English language skills (both written and oral)

This role reports to the Finance Department Manager, located in Budapest, and manages an internal Junior Accountant and the external accounting provider located in Berlin.
There will be a three month minimum training period in Budapest. Upon successful completion, this role will relocate to be based in Berlin.

Summarized Regular Responsibilities:
supporting the transactional controlling and reporting services for two entities in Germany,
preparing diverse periodic management reports and ad hoc financial and operational analysis,
booking general entries (a small but important part),
being accountable for and managing closely the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes,
contributing to continuous planning and budgeting processes,
working closely with the senior and executive finance roles in Europe,
involvement in various projects to improve the accounting and reporting systems.

The ideal candidate has great communication and problem solving skills, is highly motivated and strongly focused on details, flexible and adaptable to liaise with different teams and assist colleagues on other requirements, is open and available to travel and work with various teams.
