Server Analyst – Warsaw

The Server Analyst will work as part of our busy close-knit global infrastructure team, working directly with the Server Specialist based in Warsaw.  This role will support the corporate Windows and Linux server infrastructure, both physical and virtual, which includes responding to 3rd level support issues and assisting with production and corporate systems in a 24x7x365 environment. The Server Analyst will be comfortable in rapidly assessing, analyzing, and resolving complex issues and will know when to engage other IT staff for assistance.

This individual will report to the IT Server Specialist based in the Warsaw, and will possess superior organizational skills and sound judgment.  The ideal candidate will be a personable self-starter with a team-player mind set.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive knowledge and expertise across Windows, Linux and VMWare based systems
  • Server (Windows/Linux) and virtualization environment administration (VMWare)
  • Storage management (SAN/NAS/iSCSI/Fibre Channel) / backup and archiving management
  • Monitoring configuration, capacity planning, problem management and sharing of know how in areas of ownership
  • Liaising with hardware, software support teams and approved vendors
  • Addresses and resolves help desk requests as assigned
  • Logs all requests in the ticketing system for tracking of metrics and support with documented resolutions and updates
  • Collaborates with other IT staff to learn and support new applications
  • Analyses and resolves incidents and requests regarding server infrastructure systems
  • Troubleshoots enterprise software products as well as other software and hardware failures
  • Installs hardware and software as directed by Manager
  • Provides after hours and on-call support as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Person Specification

  • Advanced troubleshooting capabilities for hardware, software, and networking
  • Displays deep and broad knowledge in relevant technical skills sets
  • Follows logical process for problem identification
  • A willingness to work pro-actively and offer solutions, assess circumstances and problem solve with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally both in written and verbal form fluently in English
  • Professionally interface with all levels of the organization, as well as high-profile individuals, clients and vendors
  • A strong work ethic, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, adhere to deadlines and execute on multiple assignments from beginning to end with accountability for the results

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or comparable experience
  • Certifications:
    • ITIL Foundation
    • Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSA, MCSE)
  • Knowledge and experience with
    • Microsoft Windows and Linux systems (Build/Configuration/Maintenance)
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • VMware/SAN solutions
    • storage environment (SAN/NAS/iSCSI/Fibre Channel)
    • backup and archiving solutions
    • working with complex IT systems in a fast paced web environment
    • supporting Windows 10, Office 2016 & Office 365/Skype for Business
    • using and configuring SCCM/SCOM
